Vocational Rehabilitation – What It Is and How It Works

March 19th, 2025
1 p.m. PDT/4 p.m. EST

Join our panel of experts in March to discuss Vocational Rehabilitation (VR), which is a Federal-State program that provides a variety of services to persons with disabilities, with the ultimate goal to prepare for, enter into, or retain employment. VR can help customers purchase or modify a vehicle to make it more accessible. This service is only available after other transportation options have been explored and it's determined to be the most appropriate and cost-efficient option. The vehicle modification process includes evaluation, training, vehicle selection, installation, and delivery.  VR’s vary by state so this presentation will be a general view of the process.

Agenda

Representatives from Missouri Vocational Rehabilitation:

  • What is Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) and how does it benefit people with mobility challenges?
  • How do people learn about Vocational Rehabilitation or get referred to VR?
  • What is the process that someone goes through to get funding from Vocational Rehab?
  • How does the funding process work with a Mobility Dealer?

End users who have gone through the process:

  • How did you learn about Vocational Rehab and their benefits?
  • How was the process for you, easy to follow, help along the way, etc?
  • What advice, lessons learned, etc. do you have for other people who are in your similar situation?

Important: This webinar will be recorded and available for viewing after March 19th. Please note that the information provided will be general, as we cannot cover the specific processes for each state. For detailed information, please refer to the following link to all state agencies.
